• Why the Five Good Emperors were called "Good"? 

Many of the emperors abused their power, but 5 of them tried to be good leaders, and to do what they believed was right for the people. They were extraordinarily just.

1. In AD 395 Emperor Theodosius I died. The Roman Empire was divided in two halves, east and west.

Hispania was part of the Western Roman Empire.

2. Conditions were bad because people suffered disease, hunger and rising prices as well as invasions from Germanic tribes.
